The uTalk Challenge<\/a> is almost here!<\/span><\/p>\n

From January 1st, start\u00a0a new language for free, and learn as much as you\u00a0can with our uTalk app<\/a> by January 31st.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The uTalk challenge is open to everyone and totally free, so if you’d like to join in, you can find more details and sign up to the challenge here: eurotalk.com\/utalkchallenge<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

With 130 languages to choose from (we’ve just added Greenlandic and Indian English to the app, so there’s now even more choice!), there’s something for everyone – and we’re certainly covering a variety of languages here in the EuroTalk office, where\u00a0competition is bound to be fierce…<\/span><\/p>\n

Safia – Mandarin Chinese<\/strong><\/h3>\n

My mum and little sister despair at my lack of ability to speak any Mandarin so it\u2019s probably about time to rectify the situation. And then they can\u2019t gang up on me anymore when we play Mahjong!<\/span><\/p>\n

Alex – Turkish<\/strong><\/h3>\n

My best friend and her twin sister at uni are Turkish Cypriot, and they always speak Turkish between the two of them when they’re with us, so I want to be able to understand who or what they’re talking about.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Competition<\/a><\/p>\n

Nat – Welsh<\/strong><\/h3>\n

I always intended to move to Wales one day so thought I should learn a bit of the language – plus I’m interested to see how much my (limited) Cornish will help with Welsh!<\/span><\/p>\n

Ioana – Argentinian Spanish<\/strong><\/h3>\n

I want to be able to chat with the lovely non-English speaking relatives of my boyfriend, and\u00a0also to unexpectedly add Spanish words to our daily conversations.<\/span><\/p>\n

Adi – Arabic<\/strong><\/h3>\n

I lived in Dubai for six\u00a0years, and I\u00a0hardly know any Arabic, so it’s high time.<\/span><\/p>\n

Liz – Welsh<\/h3>\n

No particular reason, if I’m honest; I just fancy a challenge! I think trying to say\u00a0Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch<\/a> whet my appetite…<\/span><\/p>\n

Steve – Scots Gaelic<\/h3>\n

Scotland is one of my favourite places in the UK and I’d like to learn a Celtic language which is still spoken there.<\/span><\/p>\n

Simon – Polish<\/h3>\n

It\u2019s the second most common language spoken in the UK. It\u2019s very different from anything I\u2019ve learnt before, and would be interested to try and pick up a few words and sentences and then try and see if I can hear them in real life!<\/span><\/p>\n

Brett – Arabic<\/h3>\n

I have been to the UAE on a couple of occasions this year. I am going again next year to meet some schools who need a solution to help get their English-speaking students to speak Arabic. If I’m trying to help them, then I should really learn it too.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pablo – Romanian<\/h3>\n

My girlfriend is from Romania. I\u2019ll try to be able to say something else\u00a0other\u00a0than her name and \u2018da’.<\/span><\/p>\n
