About Polish

Polish (polski) is the second most widely spoken Slavic language after Russian. It is the official language of Poland and a recognised minority language in Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Romania and Ukraine. Its closest relatives are Slovak, Czech and Sorbian. It is also partially mutually intelligible with spoken Ukrainian and Belarusian. Like other languages in the Slavic family, Polish has no grammatical gender and no articles, so the word pociąg can mean ‘a train’ or ‘the train’.
