When I was little, my grandfather taught me a couple of basic words from Macedonia. He never really got that chance to teach me the entire language because unfortunately he passed away a couple months ago. I felt like I lost my connection to him because I don't know his language and at his funeral the priest was singing and talking in a language I couldn't understand.
