uTalk helped me learn French just a week before my holiday, I was able to download a language and continue using the app without a network connection which came in extremely handy on the go when needing to refresh my memory and top up on my French. Excellent and thorough! The 3.7 rating on here seems quite unfair; most complaints appear to be from people expecting more for free (and you actually can get a decent amount for free if you put the effort in). It's not really intended for 'dipping in and out of' like Duolingo or Drops, but as it's a bit more intense, I felt like I've learnt faster with uTalk than I did with Duolingo. If you're willing to put the work in, this is a solid app. And keep your eye out for decent offers too :)Mike ThorpeAndroid

I’m moving to Canada soon so I thought it would be a good idea to learn French. I’ve been wanting to for years and tried many programs. I purchased UTalk awhile ago but hadn’t started with it and instead went with the much touted Babbel. Babble was boring me and wasn’t fun so I opened up UTalk. OMG! What a difference! I’ve learned more, it’s fun, I get to challenge myself, I love playing the games! Thank goodness for the snail feature! I like the speaking feature because I can hear the hesitancy and know I need to become more confident. The games are great and prove if you make learning fun and challenging you learn more, faster! And thanks for showing me there is French and Canadian French!kodiwodiiPhone
