uTalk takes language learning to new heights with Emirates, the world’s largest international airline

London-based language experts uTalk are helping passengers on Emirates Airline prepare for arrival with new inflight language videos. They’ve produced a series of films, which can be seen on all Emirates flights, giving travellers an introduction to five languages, with beginner lessons covering first words, food and drink and getting around.

Emirates’ award-winning inflight entertainment, ice, offers over 2,500 channels of the latest movies, TV shows and live TV for news and sport. It also offers a learning zone for passengers who wish to use their journey to pick up new skills or knowledge. uTalk’s lessons join courses ranging from photography to business networking, to provide practical learning that can be put into practice the moment the flight lands.

Brett Savidge, uTalk’s VP Sales and Marketing, said, “We’re delighted to be working with the innovative team at Emirates, the world’s biggest airline, helping to fulfil a crucial need for their passengers. At uTalk, we’re great believers in the value of knowing just a few words in the local language; whether you’re travelling for business or pleasure, inflight is a perfect time for passengers to brush up on some new words.”

The videos were made by Sussex-based media production company beechtobeach in conjunction with uTalk’s graphic designer Luke Henley and presented by Nikolay Suvandzhiev, a former children’s TV presenter from Bulgaria. They cover Arabic, German, French, Spanish and Chinese Mandarin, and will be inflight for at least six months.
