I was happy to find a language app that had Yoruba! Ended up becoming interested through having a close friend, and was bummed when my usual language apps had nothing for Yoruba. In just a day I've been able to learn a couple words. Not as fun as other game like learning apps, but actually able to retain what I learn from my 30 mins of studying. The price to me is great, especially with one area of words to try out free for a person to see if they like the app.Amanda JohnsonAndroid  

Finally got over my vocab learning phobia! For my GCSEs I have chosen to do 3 languages: French, German and Mandarin. As you can imagine that is a lot of vocabulary to learn, I have always been terrible at learning written language but this app makes it fun by turning it into a game! It has over 100 other languages to learn from and since then I have also started to learn a bunch of other languages including Swedish, Dutch, Spanish, Italian and Norwegian. I've also taken a look at Albanian and Swahili which have been interesting to learn.HenryAndroid  

You know how the other voices are like a robot wow that helped me with Macedonia! I’m moving to Canada soon so I thought it would be a good idea to learn French. I’ve been wanting to for years and tried many programs. I purchased UTalk awhile ago but hadn’t started with it and instead went with the much touted Babbel. Babble was boring me and wasn’t fun so I opened up UTalk. OMG! What a difference! I’ve learned more, it’s fun, I get to challenge myself, I love playing the games! Thank goodness for the snail feature! I like the speaking feature because I can hear the hesitancy and know I need to become more confident. The games are great and prove if you make learning fun and challenging you learn more, faster! And thanks for showing me there is French and Canadian French!kodiwodiiPhone  

uTalk helped me learn French just a week before my holiday, I was able to download a language and continue using the app without a network connection which came in extremely handy on the go when needing to refresh my memory and top up on my French. Overall very smart thorough app with no annoying glitches or ads. Would recommend to anyone wanting to learn any language, this app has every language under the sun.danl1992iPhone  

Really like this app for learning Latvian, can't find many other options but this one seems well made and good quality. My wife who is Latvian says the accent is very good. The one comment was that some of the expressions are more formal than you might use but I'm happy with that as she can teach me the slang! You get a free demo of two of the sections before having to buy anything, and it's about £40 for the whole language which is very reasonable compared to teachers, or you can just buy individual sections which I have done so far.helen1331iPhone  

A great useful app. I used it on my travels through Asia where I learned a bit of Thai, Khmer and Vietnamese - all in one app! Although it sometimes brought me a lot of laughs trying to connect with the locals!JozefTiso jr. iPhone  

This app has over 60 categories to choose from with helpful vocabulary and phrases. I already speak, read, and write Thai, but this app is helping to fill in vocabulary gaps. Also, I love the recall section where you test your pronunciation against a native speaker (both male and female recordings). The microphone doesn’t lie! If you are buying this for mass sentences, syntax, or fluency in a language, you will be disappointed. Check out glossika instead. However, if you are looking for helpful vocabulary and you want to work on your accent, this is a fun app to accomplish those goals.
