Learn Kannada

Kannada is the official language of the Indian state of Karnataka. Kannada speakers also live in other parts of India, including Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra. Kannada is a relative of, and has very similar grammar to, Tamil, with Sanskrit influences on grammar and vocabulary. Its various dialects also borrow from their language neighbours. While the written language is fairly standardised, there are up to 20 spoken dialects.
