- Nepalis tell you to mind your own business by saying 'don't ask for the address of a village that you won't visit'!
- Some pronouns like 'he' and 'she' can have up to eight different forms depending on formality and whether the person being spoken about is nearby or far away.
- Nepali speakers often confuse 's' and 'sh' sounds, pronouncing them both as 's'.

- Nepali and Hindi are both Indo-Aryan languages with deep historical connections to Sanskrit and other earlier Indo-Aryan languages.
- They also both use the Devanagari script, which can make the two languages look similar when written down.
