Great app for learning different languages, it's great that you can learn from repeating common words and phrases spoken by natives. Great idea and fantastic for travelingJocc1233iPhone
Really like this app for learning Latvian, can't find many other options but this one seems well made and good quality. My wife who is Latvian says the accent is very good. The one comment was that some of the expressions are more formal than you might use but I'm happy with that as she can teach me the slang! You get a free demo of two of the sections before having to buy anything, and it's about £40 for the whole language which is very reasonable compared to teachers, or you can just buy individual sections which I have done so far.helen1331iPhone
Fantastic app, great and responsive customer service. Definitely aimed more at getting someone conversational than learning all the nuances of a language, but it's very informative in that aspect. I especially like the option of being able to record and compare yourself to the native speakers for each new word.LaurelAndroid
This uTalk is a good deal because it is useful to both new learners and intermediate learners. The uTalk app is quite polished and it seems that the company is responsive. There are many words for new learners (I’m sure at least 1,500 words), plus many complex sentences that may contain up to 10-15 words (more sentences here than most other apps). There are English translations for the words and sentences, which are very helpful. The 65 lesson topics typically consist of 20-50 individual words or sentences. There are a variety of six types of quizzes with each topic—including very easy and very difficult quizzes. You need to be very familiar with the words to do well on the difficult quizzes. But you can skip the hardest quizzes and return to them later. Every app has strengths and weaknesses. All the language learning apps I have purchased so far are useful, but I like the format of uTalk better than the similar apps of Mondly and Learn&Play. The pronunciation methodology is better in uTalk than those other apps. Also, uTalk includes pronunciations from both North and South Vietnam for all words and sentences. Rosetta Stone has a different teaching structure than uTalk. RS is very good, but it is better to have some knowledge of individual words before starting with Rosetta Stone, or it may be too difficult for new learners. Even after using RS, this is a good app to have.uTalk UseriPhone
This is one of the easiest apps I have been looking at to learn a languageRichard GreenAndroid
Interactive and effective way to learn a language. Memory games keep you on your toes whilst the use of pictures, spoken and written vocabulary helps to fix the language as different parts of the brain are being used. Impressive customer service too.obble5iPhone
I've only just started using the app, but I must say, I love it. It helps in all aspects of learning a language. Their customer service is GREAT. I had an issue, sent an email and got a response within less than a day with how to rectify the issue. Thank you uTalk!André SunAndroid
I’m moving to Canada soon so I thought it would be a good idea to learn French. I’ve been wanting to for years and tried many programs. I purchased UTalk awhile ago but hadn’t started with it and instead went with the much touted Babbel. Babble was boring me and wasn’t fun so I opened up UTalk. OMG! What a difference! I’ve learned more, it’s fun, I get to challenge myself, I love playing the games! Thank goodness for the snail feature! I like the speaking feature because I can hear the hesitancy and know I need to become more confident. The games are great and prove if you make learning fun and challenging you learn more, faster! And thanks for showing me there is French and Canadian French!kodiwodiiPhone
Great app and has helped me learn some good vocab for my French GCSEPop757iPhone
I am amazed by the range of content this app provides, it's always nice to see a more obscure language being supported!Nikolay SuvandzhievAndroid
